Jay, I did look around and asked a few of the vendors about TOW stuff and no luck. I was told by one guy that he could give me the coordinates of a site in Iraq where he buried hundreds of TOW systems that were taken out of service.

The chopper is a UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) in the Army. I am pretty sure the Marine designation is also UH-1.

Love the pics. Wish I could have gone this year.

It certainly is but I'm not sure if that's a "B" or "C" model ship. The "D" model was the first to have the longer(?) fuselage with the gunner's position on the sides (just behind the troop seats) and the sliding cargo bay door with 2 windows in it instead of the one large one.

Clell
Great photos thanks for posting!

That makes me laugh because originally it was illegally parked. It was in middle of the fire lane right next to where it is in the picture.

SeeBee, no morning after photos because there was no morning after! I keep hearing all these tall tales about George Dickel, so I bring a bottle and first morning buy a med ammo can to carry it in between my seats, even got some plastic shot glasses and I can't get anyone to drink with me :? Brought home 3/4 of a bottle. Thats just not right......

Clell, thanks for posting the pics, BUT where was Rick and his jeep?
If the Rainman and I were there, you would not have had to bring that bottle back.
That UH-1 Huey is, as already posted above, the early variant, short fuselage and could be one of these- UH-1B/M/E/L/K Huey variants.
But, it looks like the gunship 'C' for Charlie model version I flew as it has a wide chord blade. The Navy used this C model in the Seawolves squadron, HAL 3, supporting Riverine Forces in VN.
I wasn't aware that the Marines used them at all. But then the Marines were not based down in the southern parts of VN during my time there.
