KenH M151A2

Unread post by KenH » April 19th, 2011, 9:09 am

Hello, I'm new to g838. Had wanted a M151 for many years and purchased this one in 1999. Met a guy in FL who owned 5 MUTTs and an assortment of other vehicles he said he used for film work. Mine is a bit of a Frankenmutt, as he explained that he found the body in a junkyard and added an assortment of take off parts to make it whole. An A1 steering wheel/column and in-tank electric fuel pump are the most obvious issues, although I assume there are more. The body has some weld repairs and rust issues, but I can not find any evidence of a cut. The ROPS is a shell that is only bolted to the forward floor to give it an updated look for a film role, so I left it alone. The good news is that the body has no cuts for ROPS, heater, slave cable, etc.

My MUTT was a solid weekend driver and, when I parked in in late 2007, I had no idea that it wouldn't run again until Spring 2011. Two desert deployments and a host of other projects got in the way, but we are back on the road now. When time allows, I hope to disassemble the whole vehicle for the restoration she deserves. I will certainly be combing these pages for all the info I can to avoid reinventing the wheel.

I'm seriously considering putting the M151 up for sale. You guys see them come and go, based on my description and photos, what is the value of this vehicle as is? Located near Atlanta, titled as 1972 M151.

First and foremost we need some pictures of the underneath to see what condition that is in. That is where the real rust damage usually hides. Some pics oh how that ROPS is mounted would help. It could be a Canadian ROPS. Floor condition and the body tag in the footwell are a plus if you can get them. This would all help to determine a good asking price.
