Sat , with a static display at one of the old Civil War Forts in our city, afterwards convoy to the VFW Lakes for a cookout and bivouac, Sunday convoy to Denny's for breakfast, then out to a local park to set up a display for the public, then ride around town and out into the country side, Monday morning set up another static vehicle desplay for the Memorial Day ceremony. We are inbetween storms, so this should be a great weekend. Seabee

Re: MemD11
Sadly, nothing special going on around here. (That I know of.) So The jeep will be decked out with flags, and be a common sight around town this weekend.
Re: MemD11
if there's anything going on here, it has not been publicized to my knowledge, and i'm a news junkie every day. maybe tomorrow's paper will have something.....UPDATE the paper did have something and i took the 151 to the mt vernon cemetary where a very nice ceremony was led by the us army honor guard and some bagpipers from their 91st div band. there was a c17 flyover, and a parachutist trailing a very large flag. i had the only mv there, and was waved into VIP parking where many other vietnam vets came over for a brief chat and look at the jeep--at least a dozen kids sat in it for pics, all asking first. that was nice, as i don't have a real nice looking jeep, but it runs great so i get to take it out and enjoy whenever the mood strikes me.

Like 67mutt posted, nothing going on around here (that I know of) as well. My A2 is almost ready for the road which is a shame it isn't already ready because it's supposed to be a real nice weekend. I predict the jeep will be ready for inspection (state inspection, that is) by Wednesday. I also predict that by Thursday, we will cease to have pleasant weather in this part of the Country......

I'll be in the parades at Killbuck and Nashville in Ohio. Between myself and a neighbor friend we'll have at least 4 quarter tons, 2 5 tons, a gama goat, a SEE tractor, a CUCV, and a mule. I'm trying to get another guy to bring his M38A1. Should be a pretty impressive showing for such small towns.

The small towns just have a way of putting on a better show as a rule.

Provided that they actually do-do something for the event. A lot of the small towns around here did nothing (as far as I know) to commemorate the date. That's kind of sad as there are an awful lot of Vets living in this area.Francis Marion wrote:The small towns just have a way of putting on a better show as a rule.

Re: MemD11
For a small village we had a nice turnout and a flyover by a C-17.

Took the jeep to the Baltimore Harbor to spend some time on a cruise with some very important vets. Ya gotta love the stories that these guys readily share. See this post: http://www.g838.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5123
