It looks like a great time. I really enjoy cruise-ins and the cameraderie of them. It looks like you've got a little MV competiton with that M37 being there, though ;)

I like how they are arranged by make for the most part. The Ghia is a little freaky, is that a fish head in the scoop?

I have always wondered how much money it took to fix up and restore one of those 60's cars or earlier? I suppose it would be compatible to the mutts but are the parts cheaper/easier to find?

What is amazing about the Ghia is that there is any body left to use. We had one in the 1960s, one northeast winter with salted roads and by spring the bits and pieces were falling away. By summer it was all over.

Parts are nowhere near as easy to find for most of those cars although there is a good aftermarket for SOME of them. The price is way higher than mutt stuff. The Hillborne injection setup on the gold mustang would cost about what most people are paying for a fully restored mutt!

Yes, that's a fish in the scoop of the Gia. One of my favorites is the Blue '70 Corvette Stingray in pic 6. If you look on the dash you will see the original dealers invoice with a price tag under $6,000. It's all original except for a conversion from vacuum to electric parts.

Many are grouped based on local vehicle clubs like the Salty A's (bet you can't guess their location and vehicle preference). They will cone off and save spaces for their fellow club members.

Anybody catch the license plate and back window of the gold mustang I mentioned above?

Rick

BTW. Carroll Shelby just died yesterday. Best damn car designer ever! Also the longest living heart recipient.

I've always said that Ford only got 2 things right. He developed the assembly line and hired Carroll Shelby. Image

OK, 3 things. They made the M-151.

Damn Top! You were wrong for once!!! It was Lee Iacocca, most people remember him as the guy who saved Chrysler, a couple of times. Mister mini-van. He worked at Ford in the late fifties through the early seventies. Also as a designer.
