Meet my latest M151a2 W/ROPS
Hi,
Just wanted to share my latest acquisition...enjoy!
Pictures were taken in Bastogne, Belgium
If anyone has an example of early 80's 2/325 INF vehicle markings...that's what I'd like to use.
Thanks,
Pascal

Looks very good. I like the ROPS look, knowing that this is a minority opinion.
Data plate on dash is at the wrong location. Should be under the grab handle.

Nice looking rig Snoopy. Interesting location for the dash data plate though... was it that way when you got it? I've only seen them, on ROPS mutts, mounted behind the grab handle. The side mirror is a rear view mirror that should be mounted on the windshield. You know... I thought windshields didn't look good down on ROPS mutts until these pictures... I've been converted

Here's a close up from the data plate - There is something fishy about it too...it looks like the top part of the M151a2W/ROPS plate was added on top of A regular one.
.
Like said, I just got it "as is" except for the net, JC and ALICE pack etc...
All opinions and comments are welcome guys!

Yep, I will need to replace the mirror but it does the trick for now.mrdibbles wrote:Nice looking rig Snoopy. Interesting location for the dash data plate though... was it that way when you got it? Re: Meet my latest M151a2 W/ROPS
I am sure there are pictures of Mutts in service running with the offset mirror on the side but that doesn't mean it's "proper". You know what though... I shouldn't have mentioned it. It's nitty and either way those small round side mirrors are damn near useless so offset or center mounted the result is the same. The square are best anyway
The Mutt is stunning as is!!!

What's covering the headlights?
Re: Meet my latest M151a2 W/ROPS
It's pieces cut out of an Army sandbag.Jay Mallari wrote:What's covering the headlights?
This was SOP with the 82nd ABN DIV to conceal the headlights.
Another directive was to remove the windshield when the vehicle was air dropped...
Got that info from an 82nd Grenada veteran.

Re: Meet my latest M151a2 W/ROPS
very nice looking rig, snoopy. have fun with it, but don't "road test" the ROPS kit!
Re: Meet my latest M151a2 W/ROPS
We'd use hundred mile an hour tape on the headlights. A shelter half or poncho to cover the windshield if we left them on.SNOOPY wrote:It's pieces cut out of an Army sandbag.Jay Mallari wrote:What's covering the headlights?
