A true mutt of a MUTT

Unread post by jameskm3 » May 18th, 2013, 6:41 pm

I went to a small vw car show for charity this morning and for what ever reason someone had entered an m151a1 jeep, it has parts from a range of jeeps but most interesting is that front passenger side fender according to the owner was made from a piece of scrapped playground equipment. Looks like a lot of fun for the $500 he payed for it :)

Well she is in need of some TLC and I would like to see if the carpet and floor mats are the only thing between you and the road, but for $500 she was a good buy, especially if it is running which I assume it does. I would take that deal :!: Good find and thanks for the post.

All things considered that is a decent straight 151. Correct hood, intake cap, seats, hood block off no turn signal add on. Headlight buckets are cut out so it is probably converted to 12 volt and I would not want to depend on those seat belts where they are bolted but it is restorable.

I retract the 12 volt conversion, I see the generator hiding in there. Headlight buckets are easy to find. The heater looks like a aftermarket box heater for a utility vehicle.

Early horn, single cowl vent, breather cover in the hood, I'd guess its a 63 or 64 Kaiser. A1 or later front bumper though.

Sometimes I wish I had the ability to just leave something alone and drive it. That thing looks like hell but I bet its still 100% fun and he can park it anywhere and not care.

If I had that jeep, it would end up sitting in the garage for years while I obsessed over everything that needed fixing. It would start with a simple, "im just gonna fix the headlights" and end up with the motor on the floor and the body on its side. OD is a helluva drug....
