Man, I sooooooo want you to be my neighbor!
I've always thought the half track was the ultimate in cool! But if I ever got one I'd need the 109 van because I'd be in the doghouse for the rest of my life.

I was talking to the guy that brings his pristine track to Virginia and he told me that all of the Israeli tracks for the halftracks have been bought up. He paid 2500.00 a set for two sets years ago and now they are going for 8-10 grand a set IF you can find them. They have not made them since the early 2000's. He told me on average they will last about 1500 miles! And you guys think M-151's are expensive to work on?

I barely had the wherewithal to buy a full set of tracks and NOS rollers some time ago and the wife wasn't happy about it. I did it anyway and I'm glad I did. Now if I can ever get around to putting them on….

The problem is I'm a little A.D.D. and…

! SQUIRREL !

I'm usually deep into a project when another vehicle shows up that want's to come live at my house.

I love my 'track but I really miss my Scout Car.

How I came to have the half track is a story in itself but it is sufficient to say, one should never kill time on eBay.

That truck has been the most trouble free of all my vehicles, requiring only a new fuel pump since I got it. What you see it how I bought it. It sees very little action because I'm always on the go but it has been a real pleasure to own it. At some point I want to replace the window regulator on the passenger side because the old one is a real bugaboo. Other than that it has no issues but I understand your thinking. If something goes wrong, you suddenly have a 17000# immovable object to deal with.

I've had both of those toys! I still have my shop van, But miss the M3A1 I restored in the early 80's

Have fun changing the tracks- Had to do it several times- Including throwing one in the middle of the Veterans day parade in NYC with Cops screaming at me to work faster LOL.

You mean to say that they didn't try to help you get er done and back on the road....??
I guess that only works if it's carrying precious cargo, with long blonde hair and great legs???

I have a friend who helped move a tank that was parked at an MV show someplace, cause the driver vamoosed for the day and got passed out drunk. Just so happens he knew how to drive a tank, but it wasn't broke down or anything, it just needed to be moved. Funny thing, they said the guy who was supposed to drive it woke up with it already squared away and he just stood there for the longest trying to remember how he did that, I guess nobody told him who moved it.... LOL.
