Rosanky Tx Car Show

Postby Roboskid » October 11th, 2015, 2:58 pm

So yesterday I attended the Rosanky Baptist Church "Cruis'n To Rosanky" car show and swap meet. Rosanky is a very small community in Central Tx about 10 miles from my home in the country. The show benefits the Church's Youth Ministries. This was my third year attending. The first year my M37B1 won 1st in the Military Police Fire/EMS category. The show grows bigger every year and is well attended over 70 entries this year. Our club had 4 entries this year 2 M381A1s, 1 M37 and my A2. We drove my A2 to the show. We entered it as is looking rough and well used but DE-bubbaized. My Buddy has a pretty nice Military Chaplin collection so we set up a Chaplin Field Service display. Didn't win anything this year but had a good time. Next year hope to win something as the A2 would have had is restore finished. My buddy James is standing on the passenger side.

Of all the events I have attended I have never seen a Chaplain impression/display. MY buddy James is a full time Police Officer and a Elder and Minister at his church. He is a also a Desert Storm and OIF Vet. He has started collecting Military Chaplain items. He was over at my place helping me with the A2 when he got to talking about what to display at show. His vehicle (M1009) is dead lined with transmission issues so he couldn't bring it to the show. He brought over his current collection to show me and I think we both came up with the idea at the same time and said lets do a Chaplain display. He made a binder with lots of photos of Chaplains in the field and had several stories of Chaplains being awarded the CMH and protecting and servicing service members under difficult conditions to included the story of the "Three Chaplains". Unfortunately we forgot to bring the binder. We got tons of positive comments from the attendees at the event. We will continue to build on it and hope to set up a display at every static event we attend in the future. :D
