LOL.... The nose of the kayaks poke under the seat back lower bar. I have a strap pulling them to the spare tire. They are very solid, and never move. It only takes a couple minutes to put them in and out. We leave them on there most of the summer and are out in them all the time. Life is good in Paradise!
