Trailer Manuals

Unread post by muttguru » January 8th, 2017, 7:31 pm

Hi folks.... As part of my research into the M416 trailer alterations and improvements, I've tried to find some of the "missing" TMs....listed below.
So far, no-one has even heard of them, much less, actually having a copy. I know it's probably a hopeless task but if any of you have details of any one of these manuals, I'd appreciate it if you would drop me a line or a message here.
Thanks
Ken

Hi Ken,

Unfortunately I have only the -14&P (original) dated September 1990 which supersedes the 25 October 1985 issue.

Best regards,

Thanks for the offer, Richard.

Fortunately I already have that one. In fact, today 3 people sent copies of this 1990 TM to me :D
Unfortunately, no-one has yet told me they have the ones on my list but I live in hope :D
Happy New Year to you, too.

Give me another couple days Ken, My office right now is hovering at 38 degree's F! I keep the door closed so it does not cool the rest of the house. I have the wood stove cooking so the house thermostat does not have the heater running much and that room is at a far corner of the house and the insulation in that older section of the house is pretty non-existent. Once the temps get down near zero F as they have been the last four days I abandon that room and wait for a warm up which in this case is coming starting tomorrow with a blazing 39 degrees F and then Wednesday it is going up to 56.

I do have an electric heater in there so I can get it warm if I want to but I am a cheap bastard on a fixed income!

I've got a paper copy of the October 1985 manual. The inside cover of said manual indicates that it supersedes TM 9-2330-251-14 (6 October 1970) and TM 9-2330-251-14-1&P (26 April 1979).

TM 9-2330-251-14-1&P (26 April 1979) is the manual that covers only the m416a1 trailer, not the m416 or any other variant. I have a paper copy of this one as well.

Hello Doc,
well, the good news is that a friend in France has a copy of the October 1985 TM and he's very kindly offered to send it to me, so it looks like I'll be fixed up with that one soon.
The April 1979 TM you have sounds very interesting. I guess you won't want to sell it, but would you be able to do a reasonable-quality photocopy of it if I pay your copying, postal and incidental costs? Let me know (by PM or email) either way,

Kind regards....

Ken, if I remember right I've actually got 2 copies of that manual. I'll have to look through my TMs to confirm. I just moved the majority of them and nothing is organized so it might take a bit to find it as I've got a couple thousand or so to look through.

Hello Mr R and thanks for checking in. As you can see in the post above, it looks like I may be getting the 1985 edition from my mutt-friend in France....and I also have the 1970 version as well.
But..... I don't have the Change-4 of Sep 1981. In fact, until you posted, I didn't know of its existence.
Can I persuade you to do a copy of the change, please? Let me know what inducements I can offer you :D

Hi Rick, many thanks for that....and there's no rush :D I think I emailed a reply to you earlier but there's been so many offers of help I can't keep up...no kidding. So far it's been a wonderful response and I promise to share any findings with everyone here following the comparison of the TMs and changes with each other. It should help to pinpoint what changes were made on the production line....and approximately when the changes were brought in.

Ken, I can make a copy of the change and send it to you, it is only 4 pages. :)

I found my second copy of the 1979 TM, it was literally on the first stack I took from the shelf. :) I'll send you a PM.
