What trailer is this and what is it's purpose?

Just curious here... what kind of trailer is this and what would it have been used for?

I think it may have been a bomb loading cart for carrying weapons to aircraft, just an idea

As it turns out that trailer was an M1100 and is designed to carry the M120 120MM Mortar system. Below are some pictures of the unit as it would have been in service. I was high bidder on this item before Government Liquidators decided to pulled the auction... a mere 2-3 hours before it closed. These were designed to be trailered behind the HMMWV but it would have been a fun restore and would have still looked great behind an M151. As for the 120MM... believe it or not the parts for those are somewhat readily available. I saw some up on Gunbroker for instance and a dealer here in TX has the rest. I was a little let down when GL pulled the plug

You're right Matt, that would have been a easy restoration. It would have looked cool behind the A2. I got the msg from GL and was wondering what it was. Sorry mate, we wouldn't want wierd looking trailers falling into the wrong hands?
