Data Plate information

Unread post by Flyboy740 » April 11th, 2009, 6:04 pm

Does anyone have the information to fill out the M416 data pate?

I picked up a new plate to replace my old one and the only thing my old plate has stamped is the vehicle indent. No and date of delivery (9/66).

I picked this trailer from surplus seveal years ago in Aberdeen MD and the paperwork said it was made by Stevens.

I'd like to stamp the new plate with the information and the Contract No if possible. I won't even try to get a Gov. Eagle stamp in the inspected blank.

Any help would be appricated.

Thanks,
Glynn

I gathered about 25 different Stevens trailer tag info....I actually stamped mine today too! mine is 11/66. Whats your serial #? I used a contract number that was in the same ranges as the trailers info I had.....I used my son's initials as the inspector...since he constantly "inspected" it as I was going over it......

my trailers all had dates in the inspection block, no eagle like my mutt. my m416 is a stevens from 9/66... for manufacturer it says Stevens MFG. Co. Ebensburg PA I think the contract number is DA-20-113-AMC-057167 DOD and Inspection blocks stamped 9/66 but I'll take a look when I get back to NY on monday for the rest of the data...

My Serial number is 6T5920, date of delivery 9/66.

I picked up this trailer seveal years ago in Aberdeen MD. It was painted white so last week I had it steel shot and have started restoring it. It was in remarkably good shape. Somewhere in it's service, they put a rubber coating on the floor. It was cracked and chipped to where it looked alful. After the sheetl shot, it cleaned nicely.

Only thing I've done differently is that I'm putting a Hercules coating on the floor and up the sides for 2 inches. The rest will be OD. What started out as a simple clean up it turning out to be a real project. I'm not telling my wife how much money I'm spending in primer, paint and nuts and bolts.

I'm not wanting to win awards only preserve this small piece of history.
