M416 Y/N

Unread post by cstaup » December 28th, 2007, 8:49 am

I have a M416 that came with my "new" Mutt A1. I really don't need is (currently it's "hauling" parts for cleaning). I plan on cleaning this one up and selling it.

I know pics are worth posting, I'll get there. What would a trailer go for $$? currently no rust , but right rear side bent. like I said, I plan to clean it up to -10, -20. Piant (maybe).

I picked one up last year from the Army in Aberdeen MD for $500. Best check ebay or maybe others that visit this site will have different prices. I'd keep it as there is always something you will end up hauling especially if you plan on showing your M151.

M416 trailers in good working condition, no missing parts, rust throughs or major dents will bring in the area of $700-$800 Not sure what effect a bent axle would have on the price, as I dont know what a replacement would cost. Not having seen it, I'd guess that if all else was good, it'd prob be worth $400-$500...

cstaup,

I think a trailer like installing a radio or gun mount in your vehicle will only add to it's overall value. I wouldn't sell it unless you don't have the room to store it, you need cash to fund your M151 project, or your going to dump it and get another one in better shape. You are using it to transport parts for cleaning so it is being of use to you.
I was offered an unrestored unit that's close to my location for $650.00. It looks to be in good original shape except for the typical surface rust. It doesn't appear to be banged up.

Tim

BTW: Moose I like this trailer section, no WWII stuff :D

I would keep it and I agree with the others here about your trailer. i show my MUTT and the trailer carries everything else that the MUTT can't. Plus it adds value to the the MUTT as complete rig.

If space is an issue I've seen several pictures where the 416 is stored resting on its back panel, two views where when it was loaded in a transport plane. I suspect you might need assistance to do this or you might leave an impression in the garage wall.

Hey cstaup,

I'm in the market for a good condition M-416 trailer. All I have currently is the 3/4 ton M-101, and my A2
grunts and groans every time it has to pull that big thing. Were both in Ohio, so logistics are in my favor.
Please keep me in mind when the decision is made to move it down the road. Always open to trades also.
Anybody in the market for Civil War rifles, or ham radio equipment? :)
