Re: My 1965 M416 restoration
Yes Jay, I don´t know much about the history of this trailer, check the markings. I think it was serving with US forces in Germany. It was overhauled and excercised in 1988, as the black marking said. It was equiped with the newer A2 style tail lights. I am downgrading back to the older lights to make a good couple to my A1

Nice clean job. Its nice to see things refurbished, no matter how they are before. Gives one the saticfaction that not much work is required going forward.

that C-14 would mean in my time that it was with company C and was the 14th vehicle on the TOE
the battalion and higher markings would normally have been on the rear on the left side

There is nothing in the rear - only this: US ARMY, GN4874. Could this be the unit marking?toptiger wrote:that C-14 would mean in my time that it was with company C and was the 14th vehicle on the TOE

I have tho different light brackets. One kind is for the A2 lights (longer) and the A1 lights (shorter) Which one you need?

Re: My 1965 M416 restoration
thats 6N4874, its the military registration/serial number for the trailer, the unit info would be painted on the frame rail in the back.czechnology wrote:There is nothing in the rear - only this: US ARMY, GN4874. Re: My 1965 M416 restoration
Such markings were not in there whatsoever. Possible reasons? Tks!
