Are you planning to fly out to Salt Lake? I wouldn't think you would let that hammer out of your reach long enough to let me borrow it.SEABEE62 wrote:Francis, I think Rainman wanted your tub........and is now dreaming about it. And yes, just a couple of "pings" with my hammer, and it'll be ok. Just let me know, my hammer is available right after I use it on Rainman to get his attention. Seabee

Let me know when you are ready to start on it, you do not want to try to hammer that into shape. You will do more damage than repair. It needs to be jacked out to a point close to original before you start the hammer work. I can give you some ideas on how to work it out with common tools you probably have. Bottle jack, floor jack. C-clamps etc..

Seabee, I have a hammer that would make you have an accident.
4 foot 3/4" plumbing pipe inserted into side of one of those BIG coffee cans and then the can filled with molten lead. I actually have three of them. Each one weighs about sixty pounds. Now THAT is a hammer

Re: M416 Wanted! (Found)
I finally got the trailer home. I just borrowed a couple wheels from the MUTT and pulled it home. At first glance I thought I got a piece of junk but closer inspection shows mostly just flaking paint and surface rust. It's obviously been sitting in the AZ desert for many years since the rust isn't as prolific as the dry rot.
I removed the tub with just a couple of wrenches and just had to go Seabee a little bit to persuade a few of the bolts out with a hammer. Now I need to find someone to do some media blasting before I get a real lesson in metal working.

Re: M416 Wanted! (Found)
Looks good. The jacking methods I was going to suggest to you for straightening the body will require you to bolt it back to the frame since the frame is a stronger support than just the floor of the tub. I can probably get you back to within an inch or so of where it belongs and then you can use Seabees hammer.

Looks like something long and heavy like a tree or pole fell on it.

I'd be proud to have left a dent like that, holy smokes. Putting a bounce on a set of springs like that would take a concerted effort.

Well, I don't, so that type of damage takes some real effort on my part.
