Hey Crusader,
With the direction of a few friends that follow this board I got more details on the can bracket. They were produced by baseball bat and balls (DlCK) Cepek and are no longer in production. At times this dirty word editor is a pain in the A$$. I did find a link to a 4X4 site with a picture, but can't find it again now. The can is held into the bracket with a bolt and wingnut, and it mentioned it did not work on military issue cans, only Blitz brand. My friends own a couple and when they find one, they have offered a picture of the complete bracket and hardware.

Thanks, Rainman. Off it goes, then. If it ain't military, it ain't on the trailer!

Hey Top,
No idea why it's not working. I bookmarked it on my browser so I could go back to it. I did a cut and paste to the post, and when I try the link via G838 I too can't see it. I go to the address from my bookmarks and it shows just fine. The address is correct, just looses something in the translation I guess. Here's what is there, though in much different format...

"baseball bat and balls Cepek Jerry Can Carrier
I while back I purchased some rear swing out doors for my FJ40 - attached to one of the doors were a couple of "baseball bat and balls Cepek Jerry Can Carriers" (see attached pics).

Has anyone seen these before? I'm going to mount these to my truck and would like any info on the latch mechanism that should be at the top of the carrier/bracket. I haven't been able to find anything - even tried calling Mickey Thompson since they bought baseball bat and balls Cepek but they didn't have any info. I'm sure I can fab something up but would like to go with the original deal."

I have a couple of these around. I'll take some pics for you to see what you want to make. It is really basic and should be easy to fab. Essentially, you have a bolt that bends up and a "T" that threads on to it.
Dave

"can carrier
What you have is the original Blitz gas can carrier. I found mine in Moab at a hardware store for 10.00. I am sure you can make it work. The Conn Ferr unit looks like it is based on this design."

"The problem with these of course, is that they only work with the Blitz fuel can, no other military jerry cans, including Scepter MFC, MWC, Wedco, NATO/EURO/Swiss cans will work with this mount.
And Blitz jerry cans suck.

Yep, that's the one. Mine is off my trailer, and just sitting in the shed now. I guess since I don't have a Blitz can, I don't have much use for it. I think the top is just secured with a padlock? I have not seen one complete, so who knows.

Thanks for the info.
