WTB: M416 trailer for Air Force Museum display
I am currently working on an M151 MRC-108 FAC Jeep and getting closer to having it finished. Now we are looking for the M416 trailer that was used to carry the generator and jerry cans (know where I can find a generator? PU-630/M, I think!) When restored, this will all eventually be on display in the SouthEast Asia Gallery of the AIr Force Museum in Fairborn, Ohio.
I have no authority to purchase (donations would be wonderful!), the Museum will do that...I am just trying to locate a restorable trailer, hopefully close to our location in SouthWest Ohio.

Re: WTB: M416 trailer for Air Force Museum display
I think I am doing this right!...
I did not do the main work to the jeep. I am mainly trying to fabricate and mount the radio system. Shown is what we have but we will soon be getting the rest of the radio equipment in order to complete that segment. Will stll need to locate the antenna that was used. I am building the "outrigger " for antenna mounts on the passenger side from photos only...hope I am getting it right (or close enough!). I am trying to fix some bad spots of body work. We have many questions about this jeep...date of mfg., who made it, location of serial no. on frame or body? Do not think we have correct data plate. White stars located correctly? White star on hood? Most of the pictures I have found do not show the stars. And finally, which forum should I correctly post these questions that I have.
I am just a volunteer working on this project. I do not know much about it as I am a Navy vet not Air Force.

Re: WTB: M416 trailer for Air Force Museum display
The "MRC" designation is Marine Corps vernacular. When the Marines would put radios in a vehicle they'd rename the whole vehicle (radio included). As an example if the Marines installed a TRC-75 radio in a M151 they'd reclassify the whole vehicle a MRC-83. This would apply to an MRC-108 (not sure what radio set goes into a MRC-108). This M151 is marked as Army Jeep with USAF markings... might want to sort that if you haven't already put that in the list of "to-do's". Lookin' good though!

Here is a link to a site about the MRC-108 set up.
http://www.chancefac.net/A-cs_pgs_rebui ... ipment.htm
I purchased a M416 a while back that appears to have been a part of the similar MRC-107 set up. There are footman loops all over the sides and floor of the interior. There is a small dataplate just under the main dataplate on the rear. There are also remnants of where the cross bed supports were. One rusted through and the other wants to rust through but it won't get the chance.
Sorry not for sale. I would like to restore it soon.

The trailer i posted pics of earlier in this thread is now for sale. I have more projects than time and am ready to sell. Not much has changed since the pics were taken. Although i am planning on painting it this next week. $1200 as-is or $1500 with new paint. Can deliver to Florida MVPA rally in Mt Dora Fl March 13-14.
