Driving back to Atlanta with new M416

Unread post by Austringer » February 13th, 2014, 9:01 pm

Drove back to Atlanta last night from south ga after a business meeting with a M416 I picked up while I was down south. Hit the snow and ice just above Macon. Bought the trailer for the frame to mount my very nice tub on. here is the result of pulling in the snow.

How did it go in the snow? did it slide and fishtail around? I'd think that it stayed right behind your vehicle and followed you.

Really didn't even know it was back there, can't actually see it. Pulling it with a 05 Dodge 2500 with 5.9L Diesel and 6 sp manual. It was fun, I did drift it when turning around in a parking lot as I was turning quick and it slid on the ice. was pretty fun. I was more impressed with the tires. Original 1967 dated (one was a retread that was starting to peel in a few spots. made a 500 mile trip at 60-70mph without flying apart. they would not hold air above 20 psi after about 5 hours and when I made it home, they were both at 17 psi. If one did come apart, i had two spares in the bed, both a lot newer. (1974s :-) )

You would not have though it was fun when it swung all the way around and waffled the side of your truck after bending the hell out of the bumper. Watched a guy do that not to long ago showing off his master driving skills in one of our parking lots. He got lots of cheers for his efforts.
