A new breed of bubbas 1/4 ton trailer

Unread post by Eddie Holland » November 22nd, 2014, 10:26 am

If you are on facebook there is a group called M416 & M101 Series Military Trailer
https://www.facebook.com/groups/M426.Trailer/

The majority of the people there seem to be people modifying the trailers for Civ jeeps. I really hate to see this happen. I know when you buy something its yours. But if you are looking for a trailer some come up for sale there maybe you can save one.

I didn't go to the link because I hate Facebook but it also aggravates me. People think that just because it is a military trailer it is something special. It is not and since you have to do all of these modifications it would be easier to just build a purpose built trailer. Think about it, what makes a 416 any better than any other trailer?

Even so, it is a well done job. The photos belong to Chris SXXXXXX not me.

Well Rick, not sure how many heavy duty trailers in that size are around. The other day I was at Ikea, was not properly prepared, did not bring my M416 and had to rent a trailer from them. Used to pull the M416 around and hook it up to my 151 or my BMW, I was literally shocked and surprised how light such a civilian trailer is.

I think its way cool, much better than ending up in the bone yard or rusting in a field. Think how nice something like that would be a Graves or one of the other rally's!

Been too broke and too busy to work on my MUTT for over a year now. I haven't even been able to pick up my engine from the machine shop but that should change within the month.

I need more side work that pays. All my time lately has been in repairing and remodeling mine and my mother's homes.
