Rivets for data plate

Unread post by richard » April 11th, 2015, 7:05 pm

There are two plates mounted to the M416A1. One screwed at the frame, right side at the front. This is easy. The other was riveted at the back of the cargo area in the upper right corner. For starting my restoration I had to drill out the rivets of the data plate. Now I am asking myself, what kind of rivtes did Parkhurst use in the past? The rivets used on the M151A2 for the data plate are not the same, to small. Any ideas?

Richard,
Parkhurst used "Rivet, Tubular, P/N MS0450C96" - no NIIN was assigned......the rivet is an ordinary "pop" rivet. Dataplate screws were not used for this plate because the trailer is supposed to be water-tight.....it can be floated. I haven't tried it yet..... :D

Ken,

Thanks for the information. And where in Europe do we find these rivets to get back the trailer in original condition - water proofed?

Look for "blind" rivets.
1964 M151A1

1967 M416
04/1952 M100
12/1952 M100- Departed
