1/4 ton trailer build
I am calling this a 1/4 trailer because I really don't know the nomenclature of it. I bought off of surplus and it had been heavily modified since it last saw service. There are a few interesting things about it. whatever body it had had been removed, the frame was cut off just behind the rear spring mounts and the lunette removed and a safety chains relocated. Also no wiring at all and 2" ball hitch added.
It had a 1/4" thick deck welded to it that was made to hold a tank of some sort.
The surplus people said it belonged to a wildlife person on camp lejuene. When I did some digging into the data plate on the right of the frame though it read US Army.
I cut off the deck plating to take it back to the original frame. I'm just not sure what to do from here. I am pretty sure I want to add pieces back to the frame to make it complete ( and help with measurements would be awesome!) But I am leaning towards this being a M762 type of trailer. just because I don't want to put a ton of money into the build, just a 1/4 ton on money
Any ideas or parts out there to help? maybe someone has a taillight bracket set they would want to part with? or a lunette? or fenders?

M-100 are after WWII, They were built in the 50's.

I have located the lights and BO light and mounting brackets for it.
Would anyone have a good used harness or plug that they would be interested in parting with?
I am aware that they can be found on ebay as NOS, I just not trying to put that much into this build.
I think I have settled on just building this as a M569 chassis at the moment.

Looks good, just with that welded pintle you will have to be sure you do not twist it too far or something will go snap! On the bigger trucks the pintle hitch rotates but on the 151 it is bolted solid.

So I have been working on it a little by little. I installed the harness and electrical plug to towing vehicle. I also rebuilt 1 hub with new bearings, race, and seal. Now on to the other side. Nothing too impressive to show though.
I did get the holes drilled for the tail light mounts and to run the electrical connections back through the frame. And also painted the tail lights.
When I'm done with it the only thing that will not be original military will be the lunette, and that's only because I can justify spending $500 on it and the casting and spring with nut.
