brake bleeder valve tool?

Postby cstaup on February 5th, 2010, 9:26 pm

What are you using? I have a 1/4" wrench but it's a pita to even crack the bleeder. Is there an offset type of tool made for this? I can't imagine all you VN Mutters dealing with this all this time.

If I am pressure bleeding with someone pushing the pedal I just use a 1/4 inch drive socket. Any other way I use the socket to break it loose and then use a wrench to open and close followed by the socket to tighten when I am done. They do make several sizes of offset bleeder tools but I find the socket works just fine.

Ditto on using a socket to brake the torque, followed by a wrench to loosen.
