Well HTN,

I hoped that someone would jump in here with a picture, but no luck so far. I forget that not everyone got to drive these during active duty, and I have no pictures, but here goes...
In 1974 our tool kits were in vinyl bags with a metal rod or 2 running through the top and closing flap. 2 ties attached, not always on the tip of that flap, sometimes they were up an inch or 2. Tools, however incomplete were the scissor jack, lug wrench (ours were the Z type, and a pair of pliers (nickel plated), a cressant wrench, and a screwdriver. We carried no spare parts, no TM's, and no TP gauge in our unit. Tool bags were kept in a "mil van" (motor pool trailer) along with pioneer tools, and remained locked up until you had your log book. Log books were 3 ring notebook binders with a green cover, usually with a plastic window on the outside. Sometimes we had used another window type sleeve with leather around the edge for the authorization orders to have the jeep out in the first place. That's as much as I can pull up out of the fog , formerly known as my memory. I never saw an M151 brand new, but don't think they ever "came with tools". We used a similar tool kit for the M561, but instead of the scissor jack, it had a truss assembly in case we had a flat tire. As low echilon driver/operators, we were not authorized to change an M561 tire. That was left to a 63 -B, wheeled vehicle mechanics. Thank God most other maintanance was also in the hands of the 63-B's too.

There are drawings of the tools in the kit in the back of my Op Manual. I think it's a -10-82 version. Don't know if that helps at all.

Theses are probably not complete but they were in the stuff that came with my mutt.

I did have another one that had a screwdriver in it but I noticed they all have a ordinary adjustable wrench and a pair of pliers.

I have a couple of the books. One is in real good shape although the one Matt is showing looks like it is in new shape.

I think it might look nicer than it is. It's used for sure. Here's the Log Book I keep in the A2 with all of my Insurance and Registration records, information about the M60 (from the BATF declaring it a non-gun), and the regulations for Texas not needing license plates on former mil-vehicles (in case I need to show that to a Police Officer). This folder is thinner than the other and doesn't have the three-rings. Instead it has clear plastic pages that I slip the records into.

I got this one through a friend in the club. I bet though that they come up on eBay now and again. Create a search that will automatically notify you when one is posted. Then you'll have one!

Look in the back of the -10, there should be a list of the BII for the vehicle.
