A2 back on the road, almost

Unread post by salt6 » June 24th, 2008, 10:25 pm

Finally got some spare time to install the freeze plug. Did some research and the issue one is 2.146 inches. Still need to do some fine tuning from the winter storage. Runs rough but it did that when I got it. Also bucks when you back up. Also need to do some body work but hey it runs again. And what else does a guy have to do in his spare time. :D

Can you post a close up picture of the locking device on the fuel cap? I have not seen anything like it before.

I recently took this photos during my recent trip to the Philippines. These belong to a shop that restore MV's. They also sell bits and pieces
of surplus mutt parts. It would be great if they still have the caps, to have an idea what the locking devices looked like.

I have a friend I grew up with that went into the Marines back in the early 70's. This past summer when he got to see my M151's up close, he mentioned making and installing security parts for them while in Guam. He's not in the area any longer, but I'm looking forward to spending some time with him to learn what locking gadgets he was familiar with. All he mentioned was shifter and gas cap, but that's mostly what I'd be interested in. Now he's the aircraft mechanic for the Ohio University airport in central Ohio. Bet he can still fabricate from memory! :)
