Thanks, It looked bigger than a 50cc with the size of the cylinder and the rear tire makes it look like a trail bike as compared to our Honda Trail 90, I still own a couple of my 70's early bikes.

Hi Horst,

you re right for side marker but it is another change due to homologation done in 70' , i cant change the position so i decided to use military side markers (in the 70' there was installed fiat round directional lamps , not so stylish i think..)

The assembly is going on , engine and hear box ready for installation and exhaust system and differentatial installation in a more comfortable position

Like the carb! It would be great to grease the mutt like that, easier then crawling under it. Do not think that would work with the engine in.

Update : today i installed radiator and fron grill , it looks good.

I also had the first run around the garden .... it runs smooth but i noticed two problems:

1 - The clutch is t very aggressive , a sort of on/off may be i have to set it or it is only new (unlikely it is the latest version , i know it "eat" the flywheel)

2 - The compression test was low ... only 85-90 psi equal on all cylinders with engine hot and valve clearance adjusted. I know the cylinder rings was used , i only grinded valves and changed head gasket but i supposed to have a better result to be honest. Any comments?

If it has an A2 style puck clutch then yes, it will be aggressive just like you describe. As far as the compression, I believe you said this motor was bought used and sat for a while? I would run it for a month or so and check the compression again. The cylinders may have been a little rusty and the rings will need to wear off the rust and seat back in. If it is running smooth then do not worry about the compression for now. If it is still low a couple months down the road then do a leakdown test and see where the air is blowing through.

Thx Rick, i ll follow your suggestion. For your info the engine is the original one , it was used by my father years ago. i only grinded the valves and changed head gasket . The compression was low even before i removed it, i think the problem is piston rings ... maybe i could check a wet compression test just to see if the compression increase.

Yes, a wet test will tell you if it is the rings, but again, if it has been sitting for a long time run it for a bit and then check it. I get so many vehicles in my head that I am helping that I tend to forget who has what anymore.
