Wanted: M416 A1 rear light bracket
I am looking for the brackets for the (newer) taillights:
AJP is offering brackets, but I think these are for the predecessor of the above taillights: https://www.armyjeepparts.com/p-3553-tr ... 28267.aspx
Any ideas where I can find the brackets as shown in the pictures?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Richard

Re: Wanted: M416 A1 rear light bracket
This subject of taillight mounting brackets has my curiosity up. I don’t recall a MWO for composite taillight changeover. I was troop maintenance section sergeant, lower part of totem pole. Just kept them moving and shooting.
Now as to the brackets.... From the TM brackets for the composite lights are 11625310-1 left side,11625310-2 right side. Both are angle brackets.
Pages removed from same 1990 TM indicate angle brackets for “original” round taillights. These brackets don’t have the second up angle to raise the lamp ground clearance for composite light assy. Now story on my M416. When I purchased it, it came with composite lights. I replaced with the round lights because those were the lights I remembered being on the trailers. I didn’t change the “angle” brackets. I was not aware of difference in mounting brackets until doing this research. Looking forward to any and all information concerning mounting brackets.
Thanks
L.Lee

What I need is item 36 in figure 1 (your third image from top). P/N 11625310-1 (left hand) and P/N 11625310-2 (right hand) is correct for the M416A1.
AJP is offering the brackets for the earlier M416. 7328267 and 732826 are the correct P/N for the brackets.

Re: Wanted: M416 A1 rear light bracket
If someone has access to one of these, I need two sets for two trailers. And, if I could get one bracket or one set, I have access to a fabrication shop that could replicate these if they had a pattern. These remind me of the M762 trailer light brackets that incorporate a brush guard type bracket as they hang out there with no tub protection.

I have (2) trailers. Let me see what the brackets look like.

I made one by bending a strip of metal, looking similar to a NOS one, wasn't perfect but it did the job .Actually I think such work is an art

Thanks Guy. The brackets look very similar. I wonder if you mount the big light to the other one, if there is enough space to clear the tub.

They touch the sides of the trailer. However the new style of lights are a lot more visible on the road. An alternative is to use Gama Goat lens.
Re: Wanted: M416 A1 rear light bracket
Would not LED light bulbs make it more visible on either tail light version?

Re: Wanted: M416 A1 rear light bracket
LED lights may be better if they work but sometimes the LED will not work without some circuit modifications on some vehicles. I have not tried LED lights in my M416 trailers with military lights. They do work better on trailers pulled by non-military vehicles. Most of my trailers have had original military (old style) lights, I have installed a 4 wire connector and changed the bulbs to 12 volt incandescent. That works for trailers pulled by overlanders that want the military look. I have just installed my first LED tail lights on a Fire Department trailer that had no lights at all when I picked it up. I will post a picture tomorrow.

I think grounding is critical for it to work?
