Full of fuel. The only thing I did was power wash the engine. Thoughts ?

It ran for 5 minutes, then quit, now it doesn't run at all? Or it'll only run for 5 minutes at a time?

Did you pull the distributor cover and check for water? The o ring on my cover was in rough shape and the capacitor was missing the o ring! Needless to say, moisture was inside of distributor.

WD40 was designed to clean out water from things like distributors. Give it a go.

I think the points set up has one wire.

I went ahead with electronic ignition. I had a extra distributer. Hooked it up and it won't fire. I am thinking I am 180 degree's off.
No fun in this crazy heat. The electric type distributer has 3 wires.

Pull number 1 plug out and turn it over until it blows your finger out of the plug hole and then by hand bring the timing mark up to line up, This is firing position of number one and thee rotor should be pointing at number one plug wire. If it isn't then there is an issue with the drive adapter under the distributor if it is exactly 180 out or if it is anything else then the oil pump is in wrong and the distributor that was in there before was probably modified to work with it. I have an engine here like that. I also have a dozen distributors that had the bottom gear put on 45 degrees out. You are likely to find anything in surplus.

You might want to verify your electronic ignition installation first.

This might help -

I put the points back it, gave it a full tune up. Bingo, I am back in service...BTW I think my original problem was the "capacitor". Or what I and the rest of the world, call it a condenser.
I did get my electronic ignition to work (it was the little white box that needed the proper setting) Kind of like points settings.
