Grease Suggestion
Good morning I am getting ready to preform the service on my A2 and wanted to ask what grease you guys use or suggest. I am not sure what is the closest match for the GAA. Thanks for any advice

Re: Grease Suggestion
Any #2 E.P. multi purpose grease will do for the M151.
Nothing there that requires anything special.
Years ago at a Shell lubricants meeting, one of Shell's engineers said that he had never seen a piece of equipment fail from using the wrong grease. Every failure he had investigated was found to be due to a lack of grease.
The exception was equipment in the aeronautical industry where grease seals are made of very special polymers to withstand the sub arctic temperature ranges encountered from 35,000 feet to desert conditions.
Not using a grease with the proper base oil deteriorated the seals.

Yep, The world has moved far ahead since those specs were written. I use the #2 grease on everything from wheel bearings to u-joints to all the pivots on my loaders and tractors. I buy it by the case. And yet I am still too damn cheap to buy one of those battery powered grease guns!

Re: Grease Suggestion
There's one operated by air, if the one you have works ok, why buy the new one? There is always the hand-pumped one.

Re: Grease Suggestion
I have an air powered grease gun and a couple dozen manual ones. Why the last comment?

Re: Grease Suggestion
It means a better answer, which is good as you know more than me.

Re: Grease Suggestion
Only thing I would add is to watch those little mini grease gun tubes. Some of those have tubes with no printing on them. These particular ones are made in China and I wouldn't trust them. Read the label of the package they come in.

Re: Grease Suggestion
I generally use a good EP 2 Lithium-Complex grease.
