Ethanol-resistant carb rebuild kits.

Unread post by Gavin » September 17th, 2022, 9:24 am

Who is producing the best ethanol-resistant carb rebuild kits?

I may be looking for several.

Is it the Carburettor Doctor?

What makes those kits ethanol resistant?

I think they are made with newer ethanol friendly material, not 100% positive, Rick will know more, I think it's the one he uses in his rebuilds.

The float needles and accelerator pumps are made from an alcohol resistant material. Within reason, I think they are safe up to 15% ethanol.

interesting. I recently bought one of the Carbie kits from China, that were mentioned here a while back, but there is no indication as to the type of material used in them. I have not installed it, just bought it for a backup if needed.

Thanks rickf.

How do the Carburettor Doctor kits compare to those from Norfar?

The only Zenith I see from Carburettor Doctor that looks close is a 1310, which is the carb type. The carb number would be a 13660 and looking that up I do not see a kit listed. But the kit shown appears to be exactly the same as the Norfar/Zenith 2167 kit.

I emailed Carb Dr a couple of months ago and Rusty pointed me at this link, which lists the following carb numbers:

12848
13481
13660
13826
13841
