The crank is all polished in the places that count and cleaned in the the places that don't count. It survived the thrown rod and lives to run another day. And it's Buster Approved!
Can I cook, or what?

Ah yes, I remember the days of rebuilding engines in the dining room. Harley parked in the apartment inside the sliding glass door. At least I never ran the bike in the apartment.

In my defense, that work was done OUTSIDE. Like REALLY OUTside. And at the moment, it is four steps from the door...
...only temporarily and only barely inside...
...in a climate controlled environment...
...because I never want to have to polish my crank, for four hours, ever again.
My arms hurt.
My wrists hurt.
And while I enjoy the results of polishing my crank it's really not something I wanna do to this degree every day.
Hey, LOOK! New cheap Chinese light illuminating my Made-In-The-USA flag...
...and half the neighborhood!

I just had to replace EVERY single running light on my trailer due to using Chinesium LEDs!!!! Garbage! They lasted one year and gone.

Frank came by to check my work on the crank. I got a 5 Jalapeños Rating.
Then we began discussing other things, like the head. Frank wants to do a valve job on it. In for a penny. In for a pound. All I see is one more darned thing I have to put the magnum cleanup on. Ah well...
...Excedrin.
More parts being given the Evaporust treatment. Other parts are bathing in the half-filled bucket of used Simple Green I just found today. I set the bucket on a piece of plate steel and the sun warms the whole thing up. Solar cleaning! Now there's a new twist.
Have a distinct feeling I'm going to have to use the actual parts washer in order to get the oil pickup sluiced out. What with all the carnage it was surrounded with, I'm kinda worried about what might be hanging out inside it. For now, I'll let it soak in the Solar Sauce.
As an aside... This turned out to be a VERY good way to rig a MUTT power pack for transport. Orange strap goes under the board on both sides and over the engine, front and rear. Red and black holds the pack in place in the bed. Simple and easy.
