Where is the cheapest source for bulbs? Not headlights.

Hey Cobra5,
I did searches on ebay for the stock number or try "24v", and turned up a few leads in a short time. Had my choice of brass or stainless bases too, I went Stainless. Boxes of 10 were around a couple years ago, Not sure now cause my stock room is full. If you only need a few I'm sure I can help you out. :)

PS: I was paying around $7 for a box of ten, plus shipping, buck a bulb.

Guys,

The price you see is per box of ten not per bulb. Just to make it clear.

Hey Bill,
Thanks for the steer. Sounds cheaper than what I was paying, at least a little. And they have the small ones too  Don't you just hate that $10 S/H fee? It added $2 a box to your low low price, but unless your a local, you gotta pay it I guess.

I keep a few spares of each, but haven't had to use hardly any in the 12 years I've owned my M151a1. In that time i've put about 11,000 miles on it. What I have noticed is that the stainless steel base ones seem to last longer. If you use the brass one, smearing the base with electrical grease is a must if you intend to remove it without busting the glass out of the bulb and then using a pair of needle nose pliers to get the rest of the base out. Just my experience. Actual use may vary.

Believe it or not Graninger has the bulbs. Don't buy each but the price is right if you buy the 10 pack.

Rainman, Thanks for the offer but I'm replacing all the bulbs in the A-2 so I'll just order some.

GIJEEPS, Thanks for the website. What a great price even with the shipping charges. I ordered a few boxes.

Sure thing Cobra5,
Heck at that price, I still have some room on the shelves in the parts room. While I'm ordering spare mini bulbs, might as well order a few more boxes of the others. I do prefer stainless bases when ever possible, as the ones I've had to break the glass and go after it with a pair of needle nose pliers WAS FLIPPIN BRASS!!! Now I swab vasoline aka vienner schlicker on my ss bases too. :D May not be as good as bulb grease, but it don't keep em from working.
