Absolutely amazing!! I even sent him a messages stating so. That is not all that far from me, if he replies to my message I may ask if I can take some pictures of it. I would buy it in a heartbeat but you know it is going to be pushing close to 16K!

Rick,
Back in the early 1970's, at least a dozen or more M422's were sold on a Jeep dealership used car lot in Nesquehoning, PA..... a mere 111 miles from your current residence. The asking price was $1,100 each and all sported a brand new paint job in pastel colors: ie. powder blue, pink, lavender, etc. These very complete vehicles were DRMO surplus and were driven off the lot. And they didn't sell that quickly because of the 'high' price at that time. The seller was a government vehicle overhaul contractor who also owned multiple new car dealerships in the area. He also refurbished hundreds of M38A1 vehicles for re-use by NATO countries, transforming them from tired OD to almost new condition in tan color.

Now, on the other hand, Walt Disney World has a 422 on display in Magic Kingdom on the Jungle Cruise..... but that would be a far longer drive for you!!!

Rick, that Mite has been on ebay at least 3 times now and nobody bid at 10k. It is a beautiful resto, I wonder if Bensinger did the work.
MItes are hard to sell for what they should be worth.

I like some of the engering details that the mite had that I wish the M151 had had. Like the inboard brakes. It's easier to stop the drive line than the whole vehicle. Look at HMMWV they have inboard disks. The mite had inboard drums.

I also liked the mites leafsprings with the independent suspension. I think it helped with the body roll more than the 151 suspension did.

Inboard brakes are nice but if you break an axle joint then no brakes on that end! They are less susceptible to damage and mud though.

That was the prototype only that could do that. The production models both the 422 and 422a1 were not able to do that.
