John Murray

Unread post by czechnology » July 28th, 2009, 3:15 am

Hello fellow mutters, does anyone have personal experience with John Murray? He sells stuff on Ebay as "murco8s2z" (also http://www.tnjmurray.com)

I bought an M151 NOS windshield washer kit, costing me exactly 100 bucks (incl. shipping) but it is going to be two months ago now, and I still do not have my item.

I let it go for about a month, since the seller stated in the listing desc. that if shipping overseas , it may take a month or more to receive the item, then I started trying to contact him.

The seller does not reply to my messages, emails, nobody picks up the phone. I am really disappointed... This is not a way to do business.

Does anyone know him, or have an alternative contact?
Thank you.

PS: I usually receive items from USA within 5-10 days, and never had a problem.

They have a reputation to be real slow shippers + I ordered stuff and after a month or so they sent me an email stating that they cannot ship stuff outside the US, some Federal Law prohibited them from doing so. Now I don't know if that comes in the way for all outside US shipments or is it only to Pakistan.

Tell me about it! they got an export license so they can send stuff over to me, now they won't answer my emails and even take any orders. Hows that for having a license

Thanks guys for your comments. I am really dissapointed - also because this guy claims to be in business since WW2 and so far 100% positive feedback. I have time, I can wait, but keeping someone´s money for two months and not even bother to reply to his email I consider as regretfull. This item was bought at ebay and the seller was stating that he would ship overseas. Even if this issue comes to a positive conclusion, I will never buy from this seller again, no matter who he is or what he has. I will also tell everyone else about my experience with John Murray.

i spoke with John a few days ago RE an order I had placed online June 5th. After a month I called and the girl checked on the order and said they would try to work on it that day...Another month went by and I called John to cancel the order as I had already found most of the parts I needed. John apologized saying he had been out of the country and was very backed up on orders. Said he would try to do better next time?!

His wife recently called me threatening me for not paying a past due bill ($33.00) from 3-4 months ago. The bill had been paid and John later called to smooth things over but her tone was WAY off base. Especially when the mistake was all theirs. Oh and the product that was ordered was late in shipping too  To say something nice though... I have always had a better experience with TNJ when dealing directly with John. He seems like a nice guy that has a lot on his plate and probably commits to more things than he can easily deliver on.

I know John personally which is why I have stayed out of this discussion but I can attest to what Mr. D said. He has a LOT more going on there than just mutt parts for sale. That is no excuse for the late shipping but it has to do with it.

Hey Rick,
Why is it that you personally or almost personally know everyone that gets complained about here? KC, Victor, and John just to name a few in the past few weeks. Man, you know everybody! :D

Well let's see. I talk to John and KCG a lot and both have treated me well. Victor threatened to sue me! I think that qualifies for recognition. I can pretty much guarantee I will not stand up for Victor.

This qualifies as an understatement  One of these days I am going to make a list of people I will stand up for. It would be a hell of a lot shorter than looking at it from the other perspective.
