Need help identifying holes

Unread post by ppauto » November 22nd, 2009, 9:36 pm

There are multiple holes on the back of my MUTT. I'm trying to determine what they are all for. Pictures attached.[/img][/img]

Look's like .22 shots, No 3 looks like something considerable to a .223.
I think the previous owner/user had something mounted on them.

These are not bullet holes. They are not flared inward. They're all smooth drilled holes . #'s 1 and 2 have nuts behind them. #'s 4 and 5 look like something was bolted there and was torn out toward the inside. Also, how do I attaach the top gerry can strap using that slot. I assume thats what it's for. The large hole torn out on the right side panel has a backing plate behind it. That may have been where a small antenna was mounted. I just don't want to weld up holes and later find out that I needed them for something.

1967 M151A1. Note: the large upright bracket has a tab welded on it to attach the exhaust bracket and hold the muffler upright.

In Vietnam it was a beer opener.
That one says "'Sarsaparilla" because my granddaughters can't drink beer yet.
