Re: Steering wheel question
I thought someone said at one time the A1 wheel would not fit an A2 column. You are saying it will? I may need to replace my steering box soon and I think an A2 setup might be easier to find but I want to stay with the A1 wheel.

Re: Steering wheel question
Hi Rick, The A1 Steering wheel will "NOT" fit over the A2 column, that column has a large screw on cap under the wheel that holds the bearing in place, the A1 wheel will not go over it but, it will fit the shaft. I have been working on doing the same thing and found that you would need to cut off the A1 column at the steering box end to make room for the coupler and the lower bushing.

Re: Steering wheel question
The A2 wheel will obviously fit in an A1 since I have driving proof of it. The 2nd photo is of my MUTT.
If I understand Dan correctly, I need to hope that the wheel is the only thing that has been updated since an A1 wheel will not fit on an A2 column but apparently an A2 wheel will fit on an A1 column?

Re: Steering wheel question
Unless someone pun an A2 steering setup in it. Does it have a connector between the shaft and the steering box or does the shaft go right into the box?Francis Marion wrote:The A2 wheel will obviously fit in an A1 since I have driving proof of it. The 2nd photo is of my MUTT.

You'll have to wait a month to get that answered.rickf wrote:Unless someone pun an A2 steering setup in it. For what it's worth, I have NOS M151A1 steering gears........ Also have NOS M151A2 Gears as well, but the point is, you don't have to try and modify your A1...
