We need books like the All American woder books. My jeep has a lot of the odities. Could be they used what was available at the plants when assembling, Or parts were moved around in the motorpool from can yards to get vehicles back up to par?

Matt

I don't (know) think that they did "mix & match" with parts at the factories but I do think that might have been the case in the motorpool. My A1 also had a power pack in it that was out of an A2.

Before you became an owner, you probably weren't aware of all the little nuances between models?

Another thing which is much more likely is that the previous owner or owners changed a lot of things. Because of the reputation of the A1 I don't think they would swap anything other than the powerpak.

The motor pools used anything they had laying around. My A2 had a buttload of A1 parts stuck on it that I have since mostly replaced. All the motor pools cared about was that it was functional, not whether it was "correct". If it could be screwed together, believe me, it happened somewhere lol
