M151A2 fender repair kit

Unread post by Litz » July 17th, 2010, 10:05 pm

I was recently told that AM General made a repair kit for the A2 front fenders. It is a piece that replaces the front half of the fender and has to be welded on to the remaining piece.

Has anyone heard of or used such a repair piece? If you have what would the 2 front fender pieces cost?

Thanks,
Litz

Saturn Surplus has right and left bolt-on replacement front A2 fenders, priced at $48.50 each. Unknown what the shipping would be. Check them out at Saturnsurplus.com under the M151 parts listed under front fenders. Cal

muttguru,

Yes, that fender piece in your picture is what I have in mind. It looks to be the same as the one used in the photo Mr.Recovery posted on the A1.

Is the one in your photo muttguru a bolt on as well, like the one used in Mr.Recovery's photo?

I guess that would then be the same one that Saturn Surplus is selling.

as far as I know, the bolt on kit is what the military had, there was no weld on kit from the military that I ever heard of. There are various body weld on kits from jeeppanelsplus and Fla Tactical , and some guy in holland, but those are not military stock.

Hello Litz,
yes, it's a bolt-on (all the Mil-issue fenders are bolt-ons).
You can see the contents of the parts kit in section 1802 of the TM 34-1.
Kind regards....

Thanks everyone for the pictures and the info on the fenders. Now I know what these fender repair kits are about and how they work.
