Is this a replaceable part??

Unread post by csmith » November 21st, 2010, 11:10 am

Spring from inside wiper arm, broke while cleaning windsheild. Is this replaceable or do I need to get a new wiper arm? If replaceable anyone have one laying around they don't need?

That is not a normally replaceable item. Anything can be replaced though. In this case though I would just get another arm since getting one of those springs on will most likely cost you some flesh. I played around with different springs on my CJ-7 and they are a bitch to get on. Broke more than I saved.

Thanks Rick, after I posted I started thinking this is one of those things that will cost more time and effort than just buying a arm or two. I'll go shopping tomorrow :)

Lesson learnt ............. Clean gently or don't clean at all

But I must say you are breaking stuff without a hammer, someone's gonna be envious
