Aberdeen 2011

Unread post by rickf » April 19th, 2011, 8:00 pm

I would like to know if there is ant interest in a military rotisserie. I may bring one if there is interest but I am way behind schedule due to circumstances beyond my control. I have a lot of work to get done on the truck and camper and mutt so I am putting out feelers so I have an idea how to load the trailer ahead of time.

Yep, R-442, couple of antennas, MX-6707, cables to hook up a 524 in the CUCV, cucv radio shelf (behind the passanger seat), and maybe a 524 shell depending on funds.

Also need a weight and data plate for the A2.

I was just trolling around and realized that I had forgotten to tell Rick that it was "ok" once again for him to invite everyone to Friday's meet, greet, and eat, at my location...

Supper starts at 6:30 with a short remembrance for Craig Williams and our other fallen friends from the MV world.

We are having Eastern NC BBQ (pork) and ribs (pork) this year along with the usual assortment of fixings (veggies, ice tea, lemonade, rolls, ect.). This year's East Coast Convoy t-shirt will once again serve as the recognition symbol for the supper. They can still be ordered through the Convoy website, or see us at the rally at Yellow U5 Thursday or Friday.

I’ll also have parts at my spot, but I’m not sure how much stuff fits smaller vehicles, most of my gear is for five ton rigs, but I'll have some paint and electrical bits… :

Well Cabell, It is about damn time you came in here! Welcome and thanks for the invite. I can tall all you guys here that when Cabell cooks he REALLY COOKS!!!!!
For you northern guys here is a piece of advice. If anyone with a southern accent comes up and offers you some "bug juice, jungle juice" or anything with a funny smile on their face.......................... Be sure you are sitting down before you drink it.

Forgot to mention, there is a charge for dinner. You will have to purchase a convoy shirt for each person eating. Shirts are 15.00 and I am sure he will have extra's there.

Thought maybe you guys would like to see some of the vehicles going to Aberdeen this year... I was at the Petro Truck Stop in Bordentown NJ today when the Red Serial, led by Serial Commander Art Swain, pulled in for a scheduled stop. Here are some pics for your enjoyment....

Though I'd add what I saw. Lots if jeep (151) parts. Murry had tons of m151 stuf to include 5 or 6 large under body kits. Some NOS hoods and fenders.

There were still vinders coming in today (thur) so there should be more. Thane was there with some good commo gear. Also met Rickf.

Rick left the day before with his mutt on a trailer, mutts are always under represented at Aberdeen, I have no idea why. There will probably only be 4 or 5 there overall.

Lots of deuces and cucv's , some big iron....
