Hey Fellas,
I've got both an RT-524A as well as a GRC-160 (AM-2060 with a PRC-77). I'd like to be able to just leave them in the MT-1029s rather than pulling them in and out all of the time. I realize that nothing is theft-proof, but anything that could add more time than undoing wing-nuts would be nice.
I'm just wondering what you guys are doing to Secure or Lock your Radios in your Jeeps?

You could run a cable lock through the handles if you have the handles or drill and lockwire the locking tab screws.

if you want to be authentic, a common field method was to take a short piece of angle iron, and cut a slot in one side to fit over the wing nut on the mount. then you put a small padlock through the hole on the wing nut and it prevents it from being unscrewed. There was an article in PS Magazine that showed how to do it.

For me the most easy way to secure my radios over the jeep, is to use a Gun locker:
With this Gun Locker you must drill a 8mm hole on the wing nut:

Thanks for all of the replies fellas.
I ended up looking at all of the options, then sat in the back of rig and drank a coffee (until my legs went numb from the comfy seat) and stared at things.
I went with a really low buck 20 minute hybrid that I thought i'd share with you guys.
Looking at the clamps, everything I saw above was more or less based on not being able to unscrew them. So, looking at the clamp, there is already a hole in it:
I just took out the Drill and widened this out to 17/64" along with putting a hole through the bottom lip of the MT-1029. Take the Clamp to a Vice if you can as it is VERY hard metal. It would be easier to bust the lock than pry that clamp. Then reinstall and Drill the remainder on the hole through the lip:
I bought fairly long 1/4" shank Padlocks in order to reach through to behind the lip:
Install Padlock by inserting the Shank in from the back side of the lip you just drilled:
Voila!! Still need to work something out for the 77 Set, but I may just daisy chain another Padlock from the bottom one to the clamp on the AM-2060:
