Does anyone know for sure if "they" ever used a GRC-142--(which I think is a GRC-106 with the teletype) outside of an S-250 shelter? For example mounted on the rear of a MUTT or maybe a CUCV, (or even a Goat). I am contemplating the idea of installing one on my MUTT, depending on if they were really ever installed that way. If it won't fit on the MUTT, I'll put it on my Goat.
If it was a happening thing, then might someone have a photo?
THANKS

Re: I need a photo.........
I've seen a couple of pics over the years of the teletype setup in a 151, but for the life of me I can't remember if they were in manuals, or on the web, or what. But yes they did and I'm sure there is even a manual out there that tells you how to put it all together. Not sure, but I believe it was the T-195, R-362 and associated Teletype equipment.
There is one nut on a M151 that is very difficult to remove.....
Re: I need a photo.........
Bill, I sold several of those units to a guy in R.I. a couple of years ago. PM me your e-mail and I will see if I can put you in touch with him. I know I hav=d you e-mail at one time but I changed programs and you know how that goes.

Hi Bill.
What you are looking for is the AN/VSC-2, it is basically a conventional Radio teletypewriter set using the MD-522, GRC-106 etc mounted in the M151 series with a larger alternator (I think it was 100 amp ?) and reload springs (same as used on the recoiless M151A1C and M825).
Had a big old motorgenerator and cooling fan, it really filled the back
I have the manuals on the system but you should be able to find a picture in an old copy of FM 24-24.
I have some of the smaller pieces like the power distribution panels and odd brackets if you get to do one.
