Clell and his jeep, me in the brown and my friend Ray. Blake's is the one with the top. I was going to ride with Blake but his dog would not let me! I'm not kidding. I did around 700 miles on a motorcycle for that trip. Very good time...

Hopefully, we'll see you again this year...either on the bike or with your jeep...
I know a couple of folks who would love to talk to you about replacement body panels.

Just a quick reminder that we don't have cell phone coverage around the Lodge or the camping area... So bring you CB, military radio, or FRS radio... Most common trail communications device is a CB, but we use them all... Frequencies/Channels used will be posted at the registration tent.

Went up last weekend and mowed the big camping field so that all we have to do just before the event it hit it with the zero turn mowers and not the bushhog AND little mowers...
Also checked out the firing range. We are going to use a farm "around the bend, on the other side of the ridge" this year for Second Amendment Saturday/Sunday... Lots and lots of room so we won't even hear the shooting from the camp area or from the trails... I even have a gentleman who has run both NRA High Power Rifle and NBRSA Benchrest Matches signed up to be our range master...
Oh, I also checked the trails, they are looking very good...

I can attest to the not all flat part. I seem to remember a "wrong turn recovery" a couple years ago where I made a rather interesting "exit" off of the hill. And that was without a vehicle. I understand it was amusing to watch.

For anyone sitting on the fence thinking about this event, GO! Other than the Alps trail ride your probably not likely to find anything better unless you live in the mountains. Come on!!!!!

I've been asked...
For those who have been a little slow getting the paperwork done...
I do have paypal (cgarbee@ipass.net), but you can also see Chuck (aka BMan) at the Registration Tent in the middle of the camping field when you arrive and pay by cash or check at that time.
He's going to want to see you anyway so that he can get you to fill out the registration form and so that he can show you the t-shirts...
I've had a few more folks sign up this week with a trio bringing a MB, M38, and M38A1 from just down the road and some folks driving up from Florida in five ton trucks...
We'll even see a few M151s from the Tidewater Area again this year.

Are you insinuating I am slow, again, and again......................................... and again.
This year is par for the coarse for me. A week to go and I am two weeks behind. I just hope my trip is better than last years!! Now that Chuck is retired he should already be there and have the registration tent set up. He can sleep with the mule that was trying to get your beer last year.

Nope, not me!rickf wrote:Are you insinuating I am slow, again, and again......................................... and again.

I'm not insinuating anything about you Rick. You are always two weeks behind. Anything else would scare the Piss out of me.
I'm actually talking about those folks who didn't even bother to say that they had thought about coming to the event until fifteen minutes ago (seriously, I signed up a guy from Lynchburg just before I signed onto the site just now...).
So, even if you haven't signed up yet, come on!
Follow RickF down the road to the beautiful mountains of VA.
Admire his well manicured camping area (yes, it is getting mowed again before he arrives...).
Visit BMan (aka: Chuck) in the registration tent, he needs the company now that he no longer has a job where he can talk on the phone all day...
BTW: Did I mention that I am still trying to get the brakes on my TR-100 trailer unfrozen so that I can haul my M38 up the road to the event??
Re: Graves Mountain Trailrides and Rally -September, in Virg
No more climbing under to do drive shafts? Well at least if you get the brakes sorted out.

The wheels on the trailer turn freely now, and it has lights...rickf wrote:No more climbing under to do drive shafts? Well at least if you get the brakes sorted out.
The jeep is loaded along with a bunch of other stuff...
With luck, I won't HAVE to crawl under anything...
ETA is lunchtime Wednesday (tomorrow).
Re: Graves Mountain Trailrides and Rally -September, in Virg
I "Plan" on leaving tomorrow in the AM. That never seems to work but we will see.
