Guy, At least he has a concrete (somewhat) floor! A lot of those shops are dirt floors with boards, metal scraps and whatever else they can find for flooring. Sandals and bare feet are standard safety footwear and if the electricity makes it from one end of the welding cable to the other then it must be safe.

The toyota distributor was dead when I arrived in Long Khanh. One of the reasons for going back to stock was so that My family will be able to use the wiring diagram for future repairs and diagnostics. The headlights were 24 volt they just changed the connectors and lamps. Another reason for going back to stock is so that during the rainy seasons the Mutt will have the fording capability it was built with. There is no shortage of coils or Modules here in Vietnam you just need to know where to get them and they are actually cheaper than in the U.S. No they are not the Chinese made ones but U.S. made ones. Overall the sustanability of the systems it was built with are not a problem here. Not to mention if there is a snag I can always send parts from the U.S. This vehicle is more for going to church or taking a trip to Saigon if someone needs to go to a good hospital. It is not going to be used as a farm truck while I am gone. It may carry the occasional load of coffee beans to market or fruit , perhaps some building materials but most shops deliver large items.

If you have a supplier for the US made coils you better snatch them up because one of our members who lives there, Jonfal, has not been able to find them and he knows every 151 supplier in Vietnam!

Entirely possible, he has not posted on the forum for a while. The last time he posted about coils was a couple years ago and he could not find any NOS coils so he bought and tested about 20 of the aftermarket coils of which half were bad out of the box. That is about how much I was paying for them when I could get them several years ago but I do not see them anymore and when one turns up out of someones collection it is substantially more money than that.
