Gentlemen:
Well, the transmission crapped the bed on me.
Looking at replacing it--is there any difference between an M151, M151A1, and M151A2 transmission?
I have a 1962 M151.
Any advice on best places to look/avoid would be appreciated.
Thanks,
kk

I don't think there is any difference. At some point in time a bolt for the reverse arm was changed so less people would confuse it with a drain plug. But I think that's it.

Re: Transmissions...early vs late
The very early 151 transmisions had a retainer piece that would keep the yokes in place with the driveshafts out. Pretty hard to find one of them. I know Austringer has or had one. Other than that and the bolt that Horst mentioned they are the same.

How bad is it? Beyond repair?
