Paint for project - Imron!
So I purchased some paint for my project from Army Jeep Parts:
24052 SEMI-GLOSS, Korea to Vietnam
Forest Green, Marine Corps. shade of green
M38, M38A1, M151
I picked this color as this is what TJ has on his 718 and I like the look of it. And, TJ is pretty cool so why not. Anyway, I brought a can to the shop and we matched it with out paint camera. The GCI paint is a single stage paint. We use a Imron low V.O.C. paint that we mix in house. While this picture is not the best, it looks very close with our first attempt at color match to the 052. Based on the fact that the Imron is a 2 part epoxy, I'll be using this on the truck along with Imron primer. The Imron paint sample is on the Right.

I do! Keep in mind this is not the "old" Imron. However, regardless of what paint is being sprayed, all of the above applies. And, I won't be painting it! I'll have it painted here "after hours".halftracknut wrote:you may already know this but you... must...must...use the best mask, goggles, paint suit and very well ventilated spray shop....your lungs and rest of your body will thank you...

I painted a 40 foot Cigarette boat in black Imron when it first came out using just the normal respirator and long sleeve shirt. That was before Dupont felt it was important to tell painters that the stuff went right through the normal filters and was absorbed through the skin and you had to wear a full pressurized suit!!! That is what killed Earl Schieb, the guy who invented the fast paint and go places. Turned his lungs to plastic!
