Engine Poppet Cover

Unread post by kmam » August 14th, 2017, 11:52 pm

I cleaned it and painted it to take over to my mates place where we are doing the restoration. Put it on the roof of the Defender while I put the dog in the back and, you guessed it, drove off with it still up there. Have searched the highway without success so now I need to find a replacement.

Is that the poppet (valve?) cover or the tappet (lifter?) cover which is on the side of the engine. I don't have any spares of either but thought I would bring that up in case people were looking. It is amazing how much the same language can be different!

George Bernard Shaw's observation that “England and America are two countries separated by the same language,” has some merit. . .

But maybe not quite the same as he thought!!

Valves are on top and lifters are down on the side. Ok, so he needs the side sheet metal cover on the engine with the three bolts. That should cover it.

All,

Notice that the Seller is Red River Parts in New Boston, Texas. Finally on-line after all these years. Very nice people to deal with. Many parts for the M-151, and they ship Worldwide.
