Re: Marking on the intake.
It's a Wieand, made by Holly Performance Products.
Some people are too busy knowing it all to ever learn anything
Re: Marking on the intake.
I have never seen a mark like that on a Wieand? I have an old, OLD Wieand intake from a flat head somewhere and several from the 60's but I looked them up and verified that Wieand cast their name in big letters on the intake but no small markers. Maybe I am missing something?

Re: Marking on the intake.
No, Even if it is a Wieand the parts are contracted and minimum bid gets the job. A company that makes manifolds is in the perfect position to do something like this. All it is is a sand casting. The exhaust manifold is the limiting factor as far as performance but after that you have to remember that you are working with a three main bearing, unbalanced engine. You are only going to get so much performance before reliability suffers. Ron Reitfors used to make a header for these engines along with other mods that worked quite well. Lockers that bolted in made from Suzuki Samurai Lock Rite parts was another but he just fell off the face of the earth.

And also real hard on those outer u-joints. I ran the Rubicon in the 70's with a Jeep with a manual trans and open rears. It is all in the driving.

Re: Marking on the intake.
Thought someone would have see this marking before. I still have not found out what it means. The guy I bought it from claimed it was a Canadian Mutt with different horsepower output from US versions. No one suggested that so the mystery remains.

Re: Marking on the intake.
They are all the same engine with the same horsepower. All it is is a manufacturers mark. Whoever made it put there mark on it. There is no significance to it unless you are really interested in who made the intake manifolds for the M-151. If you were to look at one of those manifolds you would realize quickly that they are far from a performance manifold.

Re: Marking on the intake.
Thanks, I wouldn’t know a performance manifold if it bit me in the Mutt.
