replacement in-tank-filter (A2 emission)

Unread post by dr. trinkmann » October 19th, 2017, 4:15 am

Gentlemen,

yesterday I removed the fuel-suction assembly from my A2 emission fuel tank for inspection and cleaning the 'in-tank' filter element.
Unfortunately, while washing, the melted line of the mesh-material became loose.
I did instant repair with needle and thread and, so far, the result should work for some time...
Nevertheless the filter element should be replaced with next inspection but I can't find such spare part in Germany.
Only the in-tank filter for the A1 seems tho be available here.
Are there any comparable parts from other Vehicles or any civilian parts that might fit?

Have a nice day

Horst,
got it today. Looks pretty original for me.

Outer diameter is about 22mm, inner diameter 8,3mm and length about 112mm

Won't get it in the gastank this season anymore because I will send her to 'winter-sleep' within the next days.

ok, cool, thanks.

Will need to make a decision however if I should try to open the big cover on the tank to install one or if I just should leave it alone

My tank is missing that one as well but I placed an additional filter before the pump. Had an old tube and cut it in half to install the filter.
