Fuel Pump

Unread post by kmam » December 12th, 2017, 7:39 am

The fuel pump on my A2 has died. As replacements are not readily available in Australia I am going to fit an electric pump as an interim solution.

Is there anything I need to be aware of in doing this?

Make sure you get a low pressure, 4-7 psi.

7 psi would really be pushing it but most never reach their advertised rating so it might be alright.

I have a cheap Airtex($40) in one of my jeeps, also on my M211, they say buy 2 when you buy one, I have very few miles on it, but it has been working a couple yrs. I think I will try one of these on my next one.

Been debating the same. Currently running 12v pump. Thinking of switching to a 24v facet. The power line to tank still works and if rerouted would allow me to keep the safety shutoff feature that the in-tank had. Looking at this one instead because it has postive shutoff and check valve. Thoughts eveyone?

That looks pretty much identical to the one I just bought on eBay in Australia.

If you want the correct OEM pump I have several.
Also 1 Airtex substitute.
Reducing my inventory.
