Steering Slack

Unread post by kmam » January 4th, 2018, 5:53 pm

There is too much slack in my steering - it is from the steering wheel to the steering box, not between the steering box and the wheels. Is it simply a matter of adjusting the screw at the top of the box or do I have to pull the box out and do a complete service?

I'd do adjustment procedure as described in in the TM, make sure the gear oil is in the steering box

Hambone you came up with a lot better answer than I did, I think I should be quiet as you all have better answers

Thanks to both for taking the trouble to answer. The post referenced is exactly my problem so I will give the answer a try. Hopefully that fixes in :)

Followed muttguru Ken's procedure and just came back from a test drive. Steering is great now. Thanks.
